Back from ModelZone!

Managed to get some equipment as well as a really nice Tamiya 1:35 Tiger 1 (late version)! Most likely i'll be making this first before making the 1:16 T34!

Lots of paints! Mostly Tamiya, some are Revell. Masking tape,
sander, super glue, primer, cement, weathering stick etc.

Initial look @ Trumpeter 1:16 T34/85 Factory No.183

According to Trumpeter website, the T34 is considered the best world war 2 tank due to the speed, manoeuvrability and the 85mm Gun capable of destroying a panther or possibly a Tiger! at close range.

The overall size of the model is 50.5cm Length, 18.8 cm Width and 17.3cm Height! Total parts: 846 pieces.

So here it is (sorry about the portrait photos):
The box is massive! on the left hand side shows my iPad against the box which should give you a good perspective of how big the box is.. unless you don't know how big an iPad is :\

Inside the box you'll see everything well packed - the turret, track, main body etc. in it's own box.

Instructions isn't too confusing!
Photo etched parts of 2 grill sets

The turret (left) of the t34 against a Jagdpanther 1:72 by Forces of Valor (right)
The hull of the T-34 in it's individual box.

Parts of the engine... full interior details!

It would be stupid (for me) to test my skills for the first time with this kit.....  more to come (as usual!)

Model kit(s) 101

I ordered my Trumpeter 1:16 T34/85 1944 Factory No.183 a few days ago after my interest @ making models has reappeared, thanks to the recently opened 'ModelZone'. When I was young, I tried making 1:72 tanks but due to lack of patience..  the results was crap.

Now here comes round 2 (ding ding). Thanks to modern technology (the internet), I have done enough research to roughly understand what I need, as well as some techniques to make models realistic.

I'd be stupid to do a trial and error on an expensive 1:16 kit.

More to come...
